Bannock

Bannock stores very well and will keep for a very long time. It is basically a bread type starter. By starter I mean, that while it is good alone, extra ingredients can be added if available.

2 cups flour

2/3 cup sugar

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt.

Mix all the ingredients well and store in a zip lock bag. When needed, add water to get the desired consistency. I find that a thinner batter will make pancake type bread, while a thicker batter can be baked like bread. I like it just plain, but adding raisins, nuts, or other dried fruits is also very good.
